Dermal fillers are clear gels made from a substance that occurs naturally in our skin and cartilage. When injected into the skin, dermal fillers reduce wrinkles, contour and create volume. In fact, they do just what the name implies – lifting and filling out the skin.
Dermal fillers can be used to smooth away signs of ageing such as wrinkles and lines. Re-shaping of facial contours, such as the nose, can be achieved with fillers. Dermal fillers can also add volume to lips, cheeks and chin.
Results are seen instantly and can last upwards of six months. Injections may be combined with botulinum toxin injections to give a liquid facelift.
